Facts4Life Healthy Families Training Part 2 – Practical Workshop for Family Support Workers/Liaison Officers (Primary & Secondary)
What is Facts4Life?
Facts4Life is a health resilience programme for early years, primary and secondary settings (including parents) that provides opportunities to learn more about physical and mental health. We have trained teachers and practitioners from more than 350 settings who are now using our approach to building resilience.
Why take this course?
- This new course is designed to help you provide more structured support for families in face-to-face work and run a parent workshop with small groups if you wish.
- We will equip you with a collection of Mental Health and Wellbeing resources that can be used flexibly with families
- It is based upon the key Facts4Life ideas (Riding the Ups and Downs, Keeping Balanced, Smoothing the Path) and includes themes of self-regulation and brain training.
- It will provide an opportunity to network with other Family Support Workers and share ways of working.
Comments from Teachers and Family Support Workers on Facts4Life training:
“All of the information was totally relevant and I know I will be able to put a lot of what I learnt into use when working with families.”
“Full of information that was easy to understand and follow. Course leaders very friendly. Came away with lots of information that can be used in my role.”
“Gave me lots of ideas for sessions with parents and children. Good links to online resources for families that we can share.”
A number of the themes explored in this training are common to those covered in our Pastoral training for SENDCos and TAs. This training would therefore be best attended by a different member of staff to avoid any repetition.
Best wishes from
